Lázaro Cárdenas, Q.R. — A highly dangerous suspect identified as Roberto “N”, a former municipal police officer, has been captured. He was wanted in relation to the disappearance of people in the city of Cancun.
According to authorities, “he was considered a priority target on the state’s most wanted list, the Quintana Roo Crime Atlas, due to his high level of dangerousness.” State officials were offering a 500,000 peso reward for information leading to his capture in relation to the disappearance of two people.
According to the State Attorney General (FGE), police executed an arrest warrant against Roberto “N” in the town of Tres Reyes, in the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas, a municipality that borders with Cancun.
The now detained man, Roberto “N”, alias “Puebla”, is accused of events that occurred in the early morning of February 22, 2020, in a bar in the municipality of Benito Juárez (Cancun) where armed men, members of a criminal group, entered and deprived a man and his girlfriend of their freedom, the FGE detailed.

The attackers were led by Héctor Elías “N”, alias “El 15”, who is currently serving a 50-year prison sentence for aggravated homicide.
Four people have been arrested in connection with this case: Jorge Luis “N”, a former state ministerial police officer and Lorena “N”, captured in Veracruz, both of whom have been formally charged, as well as José Manuel “N” and now, Roberto “N”.
According to authorities, Roberto “N” once served as a municipal and ministerial police officer. He was considered a priority target of the state’s most wanted list, Atlas Delictivo de Quintana Roo, due to his high dangerousness and his participation in the disappearance of people.

“The suspect had a reward notice for 500,000 pesos, issued on April 30, 2025, for the crime of disappearance committed by private individuals. No one claimed the reward since his location and subsequent arrest resulted from field and technological investigation work by this Public Prosecutor’s Office,” the FGE said.
