Riviera Maya, Q.R. — The Quintana Roo Attorney General’s Office says they are working toward a more efficient justice system. On Friday, personnel from the Quintana Roo Office participated in a national conference in Mexico City.

Raciel López Salazar, who heads the Office in Quintana Roo, said “the more efficient access to justice is, the faster and more effective it will be, benefiting everyone.
“Therefore, the constant updating of the processes for its administration and delivery are key to achieving our objectives which adhere to the unrestricted respect for human rights and the fight against impunity.”
The conference was chaired by Alejandro Gertz Manero, Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) and President of the National Conference of Justice Administration, who, in his welcoming address, thanked prosecutors and justice attorneys from across the country for their presence.
The meeting, he said, was a great opportunity to exchange views and experiences on relevant cases in their jurisdictions.
During the conference topics such as “Advances in the National Statistical System for the Administration of Justice” were discussed, given by Adrián Franco Barrios, Vice President of the Governing Board of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography.
Likewise, Bertha María Alcalde Luján, Attorney General of Mexico City, presented on the topic “Coordination for the Search and Identification of Persons”, Marcela Figueroa Franco, Executive Secretary of the National Public Security System, gave a lecture on “Progress in the Implementation and Adoption of the Updated Instrument for the Registration, Classification, and Monthly Reporting of Crimes and Victims.”

After the presentations, attendees reaffirmed their commitment to working together to locate missing persons and to cross-reference information to locate and capture lawbreakers who, after committing crimes in one state, flee to other parts of the country to evade justice.
