Tulum, Q.R. — One of four vehicles seized during a Tulum drug bust is reported to have been used in kidnappings and arms trafficking. On Thursday, the State Attorney General (FGE) said six people were arrested and four vehicles seized in three drug busts around Tulum.
During their operations, one of the seized vehicles is reported to have been the personal car of a criminal leader. Authorities reported that car is being investigated for use in kidnappings, drug and arms trafficking and patrolling in the Tulum area.
During the three operations, six people were arrested for drug trafficking. Drugs and weapons were also part of their seizures. The operations were in coordination with the FGE, the Municipal Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) and the Mexican Navy.
One bust took place in the La Veleta neighborhood where Juan Carlos “N”, Marco Alí “N”, Pedro Antonio “N” and Angélica Fernanda “N” were arrested. They were found in possession of a variety of narcotics and three loaded weapons, “two short firearms and a long firearm, a rifle, as well as loaded magazines and live cartridges.”
Another operation on the Tulum–Boca Paila highway led to the arrests of Dylan Humberto “N” and Luis Enrique “N” who were arrested for drug possession.

Police then moved their operation to the towns of Nuevo Durango, Tres Reyes and Pacchen from where they “seized four vehicles: a white Volvo CX40, a white Mazda CX5, a gray Chevrolet Tahoe truck and a white Toyota Corolla with blue stripes (taxi).”
