Cancun, Q.R. — A man police say is a Cuban-American criminal connected to the Sinaloa Cartel is in custody. Remigio “N”, who was also wanted by Quintana Roo authorities, was also wanted by the FBI.
Police said Thursday that Remigio “N” was arrested, suspected of involvement in drug trafficking and possession of a firearm restricted to the military.
He was considered a priority target on the state’s most wanted list or crime map due to his connection to a Cuban-American international criminal cell involved in human trafficking. Police say he is affiliated with the Sinaloa Cartel and also has a criminal record for robbery in Florida.
He is currently under investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Members of the state’s Centurion Group of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), in coordination with the Secretariat of the Navy and National Defense, made the arrest from a Cancun street.
In a statement, police said Remigio “N” was taken into custody after being seen handling bags. He was arrested on Huayacan Avenue in block 330 of Cancun where, police said, “the corresponding inspection was carried out.”
During the inspection, authorities located 72 street doses of narcotics that included marijuana and crystal methamphetamine, as well as a small amount of cash and a handgun with ammunition from two different calibers.
Police said “the suspect was turned over to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office.”
