Cancun, Q.R. — The chance arrest of a 19 year old on drug and firearm possession has led police to a possible hitman. José Enrique “N” was arrested over the weekend and has since been connected to seven city murders.
Investigative Police took José Enrique “N” into custody from SM 233 of Cancun over the weekend. He was found in possession of narcotics and carrying a 9mm handgun. Police say ballistics tests have come back positive for nine criminal incidents.
José Enrique “N”, alias “Kiki,” is a 19-year-old native of the state of San Luis Potosí.

According to criminal investigations, ballistics revealed that the gun he was carrying at the time of his arrest was used in five cases that left seven people dead.
Ballistics showed that same gun was used in one case of attempted murder and in three other shooting events that left at least one person injured. Of those events, eight were carried out in Cancun and one in Puerto Morelos.
All of the cases are drug-related, motived in particular by drug dealing, police noted.
Police have said that the gun tested positive used in the death of José Martín “N” who was shot six times in SM 100 of Cancun. The weapon has also been found related to the murder of Kevin “N” inside a bar in SM 221.
Another person, Efren Ariel “N”, has already been charged in that Cancun murder.
Police confirmed that the weapon was also used in the double murders of Brian Miguel “N” and Carla Cristina “N” from January 26 of this year. The man was shot four times. The woman, six times.
The murders of Juan Francisco “N” and Luis Loria “N” on January 18, 2026 were also committed with this gun. Authorities said Juan Francisco “N” was shot five times and Luis Loria “N”, three times.

The gun José Enrique “N” was carrying has also been connected to the murder of Ángel Antonio “N” inside a restaurant in SM 93, the attempted murder of Rey Ángel “N” and intentional injuries against Giovanni “N”.
The lines of investigation indicate that all the attacks were related to disputes between groups dedicated to drug dealing in the northern part of the state.
