Mexico’s Customs says the crates originated in Singapore and were found as part of an operation to strengthen security in foreign trade operations.
They were found after being unloaded at Customs in the International Airport of Mexico City (AICM).
“As a result of an operational review processes carried out by specialized personnel, merchandise consisting of allegedly counterfeit cigarettes with an approximate weight of 4,170 kilograms was detected,” the Anam reported.

Furthermore, the comprehensive analysis of the operation made it possible to strengthen the mechanisms of documentary traceability, validation of commercial profiles and operational monitoring, strengthening the institutional capacities of control and supervision in the customs of the country.
