Cancun, Q.R. — A suspect in the 2019 kidnapping of two people has been returned to the state from Mexico City after being on the run. Ariel Alejandro “N” was taken into custody by personnel from the State Attorney General (FGE) of Mexico City in collaboration with the FGE of Quintana Roo.
Ariel Alejandro “N” was returned to Cancun Friday night after the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection executed an arrest warrant.
“The incidents for which Ariel Alejandro “N” is being investigated occurred in November 2019 in Cancun when the two victims were deprived of their liberty. The kidnapped individuals subsequently contacted their families, demanding one million pesos for their release.
“The money was supposed to be deposited into a bank account in the name of Ariel Alejandro “N.” The victim’s family transferred 4,000 pesos to the account, followed by another 21,000 pesos. The caller later gave them an account number for another bank account in the name of José Alberto “N,” where they deposited 30,000 pesos,” authorities said.
“Following complaints from those affected and investigative actions aimed at clarifying the facts, the Public Prosecutor’s Office gathered evidence to request an arrest warrant for the crime of aggravated kidnapping against José Alberto “N”, Edy del Carmen “N”, Elmer “N”, José Luis “N”, and Ariel Alejandro “N”.
“The latter’s involvement included receiving part of the ransom demand in his bank account.”

Ariel Alejandro “N” was arrested after police learned he was living in Mexico City. Three others connected to the same kidnapping, Elmer “N”, José Luis “N”, Edy del Carmen “N” and José Alberto “N”, are being held in the Federal Social Reintegration Center in Chiapas for homicide.
