Tulum, Q.R. — A man behind the wheel of a car was shot and killed in LaVeleta neighborhood of Tulum Thursday. The shooting took place on 2nd Street South and 33rd where the driver died after being shot multiple times.
Responding authorities found the male driver dead behind the wheel of his car after it crashed into a house.
The deceased has been identified as Gerardo “N” or the aliases El Güero/El Gato.
He is reported to have been shot in a targeted attack by two men on a motorcycle. Witnesses said the male driver was intercepted by the motorcycle and shot at before he finally stopped by crashing into the side of a house.
Those responsible fled.
Police reportedly found a semi-automatic pistol inside the car along with the dead driver. Authorities are continuing their investigation.
