Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The driver of a car was taken to hospital early Sunday from a single vehicle rollover. The woman, who has not been named, was transferred to hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
Playa del Carmen firemen were part of the first responding team after motorists reported the single vehicle accident. Emergency services were requested around 10:00 a.m. in an area approximately 10 kilometers north of the city.
At the scene, they found an overturned car. The woman driving was not seriously injured.
Witnesses reported seeing the driver of the gray Nissan March traveling north when she suddenly lost control of her vehicle and crashed into the curb. Impact from hitting the curb caused her car to roll onto its roof.
National Guard also arrived to assist at the scene. The area was cordoned off for approximately an hour while crews worked to remove the car.
