Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — A group of 10 men found living in Isla Mujeres illegally have been handed over to local immigration. Mexican Navy personnel transferred the group of men to the mainland at the request of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) Sunday.

The men were reported seen on the island after allegdly making landfall several days earlier. The group of 10 Cuban nationals were located by police and held for their transfer to the mainland Sunday.
According to the Secretary of the Navy, “naval personnel provided support for the transfer of 10 foreign nationals to Puerto Juárez.
“This action was carried out after receiving a call from the Quintana Roo Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), requesting assistance in transferring 10 foreign nationals who could not prove their legal residency in the country.”
An interceptor patrol boat from the Isla Mujeres Naval Command was dispatched to Puerto Juárez to carry out the operation.
