Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun firemen responded to the report of a house fire early Friday morning in a central part of the city. According to the fire department, a home in SM 24 was reported burning early this morning.

Firemen reported arriving and immediately starting control and suppression operations since the fire had already consumed part of the home. There were no injuries reported during the early morning house fire.
In a brief statement, authorities said “In the early hours of August 14, members of the Cancún Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at a home in Supermanzana 24.
Upon arrival, personnel located the fire at the rear of the property and immediately carried out firefighting, control, and suppression operations, preventing the fire from spreading further.
“The fire caused material damage to various items and part of a room, in addition to smoke and heat damage to walls, the ceiling, doors, and windows. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
“Once the fire was extinguished, personnel conducted inspections and cooling operations to rule out further risks and prevent potential reignition.”
The Cancun fire department did not say what caused the fire to start inside the home.
