Cancun, Q.R. — A man accused of selling a World Cup box seat for 450,000 pesos then not delivering has been located and arrested. Police said they found Brian Isaí “N” in the State of Mexico and have since returned him to Quintana Roo.

According to the State Attorney General (FGE), Brian Isaí “N” is facing charged of fraud for accepting payment for box seats at the Azteca stadium in Mexico City then failing to deliver.
“The events for which Brian Isaí “N” is being investigated occurred from May 1 of this year when the victim, a male, learned of an offer to rent a box at the Banorte (Azteca) stadium from which he could watch World Cup matches,” police reported.
According to their statement, the male victim paid 450,000 pesos.
“Subsequently, on May 6, he entered into a contract at Public Notary Number 12 in Cancun where he made three payments of 150,000 pesos each through a bank terminal.”
Following the initial investigations, police said they were able to establish that the receiving account was related to Brian Isaí “N”, “who was later identified as a representative of the company involved,” they said.
According to the contract, the tickets were to be delivered one week before the event. The victim filed a complaint after Brian Isaí “N” failed to deliver the tickets, but instead, sent photos and videos of the box seats.
“June 8th was the last time the suspect responded to messages from the victim, promising to send the tickets which never happened. From that moment on he stopped responding and the victim was not able to locate him,” they said.
Cancun Investigative Police were able to locate Brian Isaí “N” in Zumpango, State of Mexico. He was picked up on on an arrest warrant and transferred back to Cancun to face charges of fraud.
