Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun judge has sentenced a man for opening fire on three people, killing one and injuring two. Police say the incident happened in September of 2025 due to a rivalry.
Earlier this week, a Cancun judge sentenced Daniel Isaías Soriano to over 54 years in prison. He was found guilty of killing one of his shooting victims and attempting to kill the other two.

Police say Daniel Isaías Soriano “is accused of events that occurred in September 2022 when the three victims, in the company of two women, were at a home in SM 308 of the town of Alfredo V. Bonfil.
“Later, Daniel Isaías Soriano arrived at the place aboard a white van, accompanied by four armed accomplices. The assailants then opened fire on the victims.
“As a result of the attack, one of them died in a hospital, while the other two men managed to escape on a motorcycle. The motive for the crime stemmed from a prior rivalry between the convicted man and the victims.”
Daniel Isaías Soriano was sentenced to 37 years and six months in prison for aggravated homicide. He was also sentenced to 16 years and eight months for attempted aggravated homicide.
