Authorities tour Tulum’s up and coming 38 million peso C4 security building

Tulum, Q.R. — Governor Mara Lezama inspected the progress of the future Command, Control, Communication and Computing Center (C4) of Tulum. Authorities carried out the work tour Wednesday.

Governor Lezama says the up and coming building is a strategic project that will strengthen security and emergency response capacity in the municipality.

Together with Mayor Diego Castañón, Lezama explained that the new C4 will integrate several agencies. They include Public Security, the Prosecutor’s Office, Red Cross, fire department, National Defense, National Guard, Navy and Civil Protection.

Authorities toured the up and coming C4 security complex in Tulum Wednesday February 18, 2026.

All of the agencies will be headquartered in the building from where they will coordinate the 911 emergency number and the 089 anonymous reporting.

According to Lezama, the project is 70% complete and is expected to be finished in coming months.

She reported that the total investment for the building is in excess of 38 million pesos, distributed in two phases. The first for more than 28.3 million pesos and the second for almost 10 million pesos with funds coming from the Municipal Strengthening Fund and the municipality’s own resources.

During the tour, Lezama said the project includes a solid construction with specialized foundations, block walls, concrete columns and a high-strength structure, designed to house state-of-the-art technology.

The new facility will also be outfitted with software and technological equipment such as antennas, base stations and cameras. Once complete, the building will allow for continuous monitoring and strategic coordination between the agencies.

“We are building a safer Tulum. We work 24/7 to guarantee peace, trust, and hope for every family in this wonderful municipality,” Lezama said.
