Riviera Maya, Q.R. — The Quintana Roo Integral Port Administration (Apiqroo) released the statistical results for 2025. The results reflect sustained growth in maritime activity and in the tourist and regional connectivity of the state’s main ports.
According to the Administración Portuaria Integral de Quintana Roo (Apiqroo), 1,300 cruise ship arrived during 2025, while the number of passengers reached a record 4,732,250, representing annual growth compared to 2024.
This growth consolidates Cozumel’s leadership in the cruise industry and as the most relevant destination in Latin America and the Caribbean.
This positioning has been supported by international recognitions such as the World Travel Awards, which have distinguished Cozumel as the Leading Cruise Port in Mexico and Central America, strengthening its presence in the international tourism market.

The Cozumel-Playa del Carmen ferry route also recorded an increase in passengers and ferry departures. Apiqroo says a total of 3,853,770 passengers used the service last year, which represents an increase of 8% compared to 2024.
Those passengers crossed the mainland to the island on 27,920 ferry departures, a growth of 39% compared to the previous year.
Regarding the ferry service on the Calica-Cozumel-Calica route, 325,123 passengers and 3,958 movements were reported, consolidating itself as a strategic service for connectivity and general transit.
Nautical tourism continues to add value to Cozumel’s tourism offerings, registering 212,792 passengers and 10,996 vessels, with increases compared to 2024, which reinforces the diversification of tourism products in the municipality.

In Isla Mujeres, the federal passenger route to Puerto Juárez is positioned as the main connectivity line of the municipality, guaranteeing the permanent transport of residents, workers and visitors.
During 2025, 5,457 ,733 passengers and 38,063 ferry departures were recorded, representing a growth of 39% compared to the previous year.
Likewise, the operation of ferries on the Punta Sam-Isla Mujeres-Punta Sam route, as well as nautical tourism activity, complement the tourist and economic dynamics of the destination.
The international route Chetumal San Pedro Belize continues its consolidation process after its reactivation, registering 25,072 passengers, 921 movements and an increase of 11% compared to 2024, strengthening cross-border mobility and regional integration.

The results obtained during 2025 reflect the strengthening of the port infrastructure and services managed by Apiqroo, as well as the strategic role of the port system as an engine of economic, tourism and social development in Quintana Roo, contributing to greater connectivity, competitiveness and well-being for the population.
