Mahahual, Q.R. — The Strategic Projects Agency of the State of Quintana Roo (Agepro) continues working to ensure orderly and sustainable urban development in Mahahual.
Last week, Agepro personnel began conducing physical inspections and topographic surveys in the irregular settlements of Mahahual, which are considered a fundamental pillar for the organized growth of the town.
Governor Mara Lezama has reiterated that these efforts are part of a comprehensive approach to ensure that all families in Mahahual can enjoy legal security on their properties.
The Agencia de Proyectos Estratégicos del Estado de Quintana Roo (Agepro) General Director, José Alberto Alonso Ovando, said “the progress in inspections and topographic surveys in Mahahual reinforces legal security and establishes the foundations for a future with adequate infrastructure and sustainable development.
“It is a priority for us that each family has the certainty that their home is legally protected.”
Last week, the Agepro team started detailed inspections, taking photographs and documenting each of the plots. According to Ovando, this information is crucial for the regularization, as it will allow the topographical data to be refined and ensure the accuracy of the delimitation of the properties.
The next steps, he says, will include the review of the documentation and the integration of the files to move toward the signing of the regularization contracts.
The process to regularize land comes after years of irregular land ownership disputes in Mahahual. Last year, a group of Mahahual residents demanded the regularization of their plots during a state visit by President López Obrador.
