Tulum, Q.R. — Mexican airline Volaris will connect the Tulum International Airport with the city of Guadalajara as of December 5, 2024. The new direct route will become operational after a signed collaboration with the government of Quintana Roo.
In a statement, Volaris said the collaboration was signed in April during the Tianguis Turístico México 2024 in Acapulco.
“Volaris, the Mexican ultra-low-cost airline that operates in Mexico, the United States, Central and South America, announced the launch of its new route that will connect Tulum and Guadalajara starting December 5,” they announced.
The new Tulum-Guadalajara route was one of three collaboration agreements made. The airline also signed collaboration agreements with the governments of Baja California and Nayarit with the aim of strengthening the country’s connectivity and contributing to state, regional and national economic development.
The opening of Tulum-Guadalajara route joins the international route previously launched by Volaris to connect Cancun with McAllen, Texas, which began July 3.
“The opening of these routes responds to Volaris’ commitment to meet the growing need for connectivity within and outside the country for the benefit of customers who are looking for new and better options to travel at the lowest prices to these destinations, which also contributes to boosting and strengthening the economic development of these regions and their communities,” said Omar Carrera, Commercial Director of Volaris.
On December 5, Volaris will offer the Tulum-Guadalajara route Monday to Sunday, leaving Guadalajara at 09:15 hrs and arriving in Tulum at 13:04 hrs. The reverse flight will leave the Tulum International Airport at 1:45 p.m., arriving in Guadalajara at 3:34 p.m.
“Regarding the agreements signed with the government of Quintana Roo, Volaris seeks to take a more active role in supporting regional economic development, collaborating in the execution of projects for the promotion of tourism in the three states by promoting air connectivity in each of the entities,” they said in a statement.
