Cancun, Q. R. — As of July 15, Mexico’s Viva Aerobus will start offering additional flights out of AIFA including a daily route to Cancun. The airline reported that in July, it will open five new routes, one of which, will be international.
Viva Aerobus reported that it will start five new routes from the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) to Acapulco, Oaxaca, Puerto Escondido and Cancun. The fifth route will have a connection to Havana, Cuba, making it the airline’s second international route.
Currently, the airline only operates two flights in and out of the AIFA which are to Monterrey and Guadalajara. However, starting July, they will offer two flights a week to Acapulco, three flights a week to Puerto Escondido and two per week to the city of Oaxaca.
They will also fly daily to Cancun and Havana, Cuba. The Havana route is in addition to the airline’s only other international route which is Caracas, Venezuela.
The additional routes will see the airline with around 70 flights a week out of AIFA. The company says the additional flights will be operated with Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity for 186 passengers and A321, with capacity for 240 travelers.
