Tulum, Q.R. — On Tuesday, Tulum International received its first direct flight from Bogotá, Colombia. The Avianca plane landed at 4:00 p.m.. with 160 passengers on board after leaving the Colombian city at 12:30 p.m.
The new international link strengthens the destination’s connectivity with South America and marks a key step in its tourism expansion. Avianca flight 94 was welcomed at the Tulum International Airport with the traditional water arch.
Local authorities have said this first flight not only strengthens ties between Colombia and Mexico, but also promises an increase in the arrival of Colombian tourists to Tulum, a destination recognized for its natural, cultural and archaeological wealth.
With this new direct link, the aim is to consolidate Tulum as one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Mexico, increasing the flow of international visitors and generating significant economic benefits for the region.
The incorporation of this route reinforces Tulum’s position as a benchmark for tourism in the Mexican Caribbean, opening up new development opportunities for this constantly growing destination.
