Riviera Maya, Q.R. — The Government of Quintana Roo says they have detected a fraudulent network offering sale and regularization procedures. The network was discovered during a recent update to the Strategic Projects Agency (Agepro) data base.
The group making the illegal procedures claim to be Agepro employees, offering potential buyers the necessary purchase procedures for 5,100 pesos. Agepro (Agencia de Proyectos Estratégicos) is warning people about blindly purchasing land, emphasizing that procedures cannot be done outside their office.
“A possible fraud network has been detected related to the sale and updating of land by people who claim to be Agepro workers, charging citizens from 5,100 peso in exchange for alleged procedures,” the agency explained in a statement Friday.
“People are urged not to fall for this type of fraud and to report any offer of this type through official channels. No procedure or update of properties can be carried out outside Agepro, and under no circumstances should payments be made to persons who are not duly accredited by the agency,” they said in their public statement.
Agepro General Director José Alberto Alonso Ovando said “transparency and legality are fundamental pillars of our administration. We will not tolerate any type of fraud or corruption that affects the assets of the people of Quintana Roo.

“We invite citizens, if they have been victims of these acts, to go to the corresponding authorities to make a report and avoid further damage.”
The Agepro office (983 184 0860) is where citizens can verify the authenticity of any procedure or process related to the regularization of properties in Quintana Roo.
