Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The Municipal Planning Committee of Solidaridad has approved a nearly 100 million peso project package. The money will be used for municipal projects during 2025.

According to the Government of Solidaridad, it is the first package of resources of the Annual Operating Program (POA) 2025 destined for public projects in the amount of 99.9 million pesos.
During the meeting, the Secretary of Municipal Planning and Evaluation, Rolando Méndez Navarro, reported that this first package of resources is part of the 900 million pesos committed by Mayor Estefanía Mercado for this year.
With the 99.9 million pesos, from its own fiscal resources, the Solidaridad government will execute a total of seven public infrastructure projects.
In this regard, Méndez Navarro explained that 81 million pesos will be invested in the repaving of various roads in the municipality of Puerto Aventuras and in streets in the Centro and Aviación neighborhoods as well as on Mayapán Avenue between Chemuyil Avenue and the Arco Vial in Playa del Carmen.
In Playa del Carmen, the city’s busy 115th Avenue will also be repaved from 11th Street South to 40th Street since the previous administration repaved with only 1cm of ashplant and not the required 5cms.
Another 18 million pesos will be allocated to the construction of curbs, sidewalks and paving of 115th Avenue and 5 million to the repair of the sinkhole on Albatros Street, between Petrel and 44 Norte streets.
The remaining 12 million pesos will be used to rehabilitate the office building where the Municipal Government and the councilmen’s area are located, emphasizing that the place is in poor condition and gets worse when it rains.
At the same session, the closing of the POA for fiscal year 2024 was approved, where 514.5 million pesos were invested from various federal and municipal contribution funds.
Rolando Méndez Navarro anticipated that at the end of this month, the Official State Gazette should publish information on the resources that the Solidaridad government will receive, through partial allocations, from the Fund for Contributions for Municipal Social Infrastructure and the Territorial Demarcations of the Federal District and the Fund for Contributions for the Strengthening of Municipalities and Territorial Demarcations of the Federal District.
