Mexico showcases at ITB Berlin 2024

Mexico City, Mexico — Mexico is showcasing the country at the Internationale Tourismusborse Berlin or ITB Berlin, the world’s largest travel and tourism exhibition.

The Mexican pavilion is made up of 305 square meters that includes 38 exhibitors in 35 booths.

Within the framework of ITB Berlin 2024, the Mexican delegation held a series of meetings with airline executives from Germany with the purpose of promoting air connectivity.

During 2024, 327,902 seats are scheduled to fly from Germany into Mexico, which means an increase of 7.6% compared to 2023.

One of the meetings held was with the federal coordinator of Tourism of Germany, Dieter Janecek. Both sides discussed the importance of German tourism in Mexico and opportunities for joint promotion of the tourist flow between both countries.

Mexican officials also met with Oliver Feess, Condor Air Route Planning Manager, who talked about the new route that will operate from Frankfurt to Los Cabos, which will begin operating from November 2024, as well as their intention to fly into the Felipe Ángeles International Airport.

Currently, the airline has connections from Frankfurt to Cancun.

Mexican authorities held a meeting with Bernd Bauer, CEO of Discover Airlines, a Lufthansa Group airline, with whom the issue of the new route from Frankfurt to Tulum was discussed.

They also had a working meeting with Sonia Oliveras, Regional Director of EMEA Sales of Aeroméxico, as well as managers of the airline in Germany, Switzerland and Asia with the purpose of evaluating perspectives and opportunities to increase connectivity to Mexico from those regions.

Likewise, at the Mexican embassy in Germany, the presentation of tourist, cultural and gastronomic attractions of our country was held before attendees of the ITB Berlin 2024.
