Mexico extradites two nationals to face U.S. charges of sexual abuse

Mexico City, Mexico — Two people wanted in separate U.S. courts for sexual abuse have been extradited from Mexico. The Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) delivered two Mexican nationals to U.S. federal authorities to face charges.

Iris “R” was handed over to federal marshals for her return to the U.S. where she will face charges of abduction and sexual abuse of a minor.

In a statement, the FGR said “Iris “R” was wanted by the Superior Court of the State of Texas, Webb County, for the crimes of illegal deprivation of liberty and sexual abuse of a minor.

“In December 2023 she was arrested in Jalostotitlán, Jalisco and held for extradition purposes.”

On the same extradition flight out of Mexico City, Hugo “D” was also handed over to federal marshals to face charges in California. The FGR reported that Hugo “D” was wanted by the Superior Court of the State of California, the County of San Diego, for the crime of child sexual abuse.

He was arrested last January in Cosoleacaque, Veracruz and also held by Mexican authorities for his extradition to the U.S.

Both were claimed by agents of the United States Government at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM).
