Tulum, Q.R. — A private ambulance that was traveling a section of Tulum highway burned in its entirety Tuesday. Firemen were called around 4:30 p.m. by paramedics from the ambulance after their engine caught fire.

Flames spread fast toward the back of the ambulance. Firemen were at the scene and able to put out the fire but not save the vehicle.
The fire happened on a section of highway outside the town of Uh May. Paramedics were heading to the town of Tulum when the engine began to smoke at the X-Hazil Sur intersection.

Those inside got out of the smoking vehicle that, within seconds, turned to flames. There were no injuries reported.
