Tulum, Q.R. — A new government strategy is being put into play in the Tulum Jaguar Park to register certified tourist providers. The new registry system and certification process began Thursday that will allow tourist service providers to work in the park.
On Thursday, Quintana Roo Governor Mara Lezama invited tourism service providers at the Jaguar Park in Tulum to register and participate in the professionalization and certification process.
She said the new process is being launched as part of the Tulum Renace program with the goal of strengthening tourism and creating a registry of those offering services in the park.
Part of the registration process includes the creation of an official photo identification for certified workers.
According to Governor Lezama, “it is exclusively for those who operate within the park, including artisans, craftspeople and service providers in the food, beverage, paramedic and medical personnel sectors.”
The Governor also highlighted the participation of the Ministry of Tourism in this strategy of integrating a Registry of Tourist Service Providers of the Jaguar Park, with the coordinated work with the Government of Mexico, SECTUR, CONANP, Mundo Maya and INAH.
“If you are a tourism service provider come,” the Governor said, calling on those who carry out tourism-related activities in Jaguar Park to take advantage of this registration and professionalization process for the implementation of a professionalization and certification plan.
Mara Lezama explained that the new strategy stems from the efforts made before President Claudia Sheinbaum and is part of the Tulum Renace program that was announced on July 17.
Over the summer, government officials worked on various actions to address the needs of the National Park and the municipality of Tulum as a tourist destination.
