Cancun, Q.R. — A city taxi driver was found gunned down inside his Cancun cab Thursday in the Alfredo V. Bonfil suburb. Police found the driver dead inside his taxi with several bullet wounds.
Emergency services were alerted to the sound of gun shots on Benito Juárez Avenue around 7:00 a.m. Thursday morning which led to the dispatch of police.
According to early information, the driver had been shot multiple times and left for dead. Paramedics confirmed the driver had died at the scene after being shot several times.
Municipal police cordoned off the area while the body was removed. Authorities are investigating the shooting death of the Cancun taxi driver who has been identified as 55 year old Gerardo “G”.
Authorities have not disclosed who fired the shots or a possible motive.
