Playa del Carmen police say four in custody and facing charges of aggravated kidnapping

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Police in Playa del Carmen say four men are in custody for their roles in a local kidnapping. All four men are facing charges of aggravated illegal deprivation of liberty for the September 9 kidnapping.

The Quintana Roo Attorney General has identified the men as Cristian Alexis “N”, Jesús Manuel “N”, Román “N” and Vicente “N”

“Cristian Alexis “N”, Jesús Manuel “N”, Román “N” and Vicente “N” are being investigated for events that occurred on September 9 of this year, when they allegedly entered the victim’s home in the Los Pájaros neighborhood,” police reported.

Police explained that the four men detained their male victim and beat him while demanding money from his sale of solar panels. The man began to yell for help, which was heard by his neighbors who called police.

Elements of the Municipal Secretariat of Citizen Security responded to the call, arriving at the home to find all four men “in flagrante delicto”, they said.

Authorities reported that Cristian Alexis “N”, Jesús Manuel “N”, Román “N” and Vicente “N” are being held for their probable participation in acts possibly constituting the crime of aggravated deprivation of liberty.
