Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — An investigation has been started into the death of an on-the-job city worker. Police and Civil Protection are looking into the electrocution death of a man Friday.
The man was reportedly installing services on a pole in the Villas del Sol subdivision when he was shocked. The worker, who has not been named, was found dangling from the pole supported by his safety harness.
Paramedics confirmed his death at the scene of the Friday afternoon accident.
Local firemen were brought in to lower the man’s body from the pole while CFE personnel were on scene to temporarily cut power.
An investigation has been started into how the incident happened and an official cause of death.
