Cancun, Q.R. — Three men seen exchanging drugs inside a car in Cancun were arrested Tuesday. Since their detainment, local authorities say they are being looked into for city vehicle thefts among other crimes.
Miguel Ángel “N”, Cruz Armando “N” and Carlos “N” were arrested after patrolling police witnessed them exchanging what appeared to be packages of crystal meth. According to the Attorney General (FGE), all three were captured “in flagrante delicto in the streets of the Villas Otoch Paraíso neighborhood” of Cancun.
“Preliminary data indicates that those captured, identified as Miguel Ángel “N”, Cruz Armando “N” and Carlos “N”, were inside a Tsuru model vehicle with logos belonging to a Taxi Drivers Union, parked on public roads in SM 259 of Cancun when they were spotted by the agents while handling what seemed to be illegal substances,” the FGE reported.
“After a review for possible illicit conduct, Investigative Police found the subjects in possession of bags containing white substances with characteristics similar to the drug known as crystal,” they said.
Since their arrests, first investigations link those captured with crimes of theft of vehicles, authorized as taxis, and other crimes around the city of Cancun.
