Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun suspect in four city murders has been sentenced to 200 years in prison after being found guilty. On Monday, authorities reported on the sentencing of Juan Oscar “N” to 50 years in prison for each of the victims.
He was sentenced by a Cancun judge Monday afternoon for the four December 2019 murders. The State Attorney General (FGE) issued an official statement on the sentencing.
“After analyzing all the relevant evidence, the State Attorney General’s Office obtained a conviction of 200 years in prison for Juan Oscar “N”, found guilty of the crime of aggravated homicide against four victims in Cancun.
“The events for which Juan Oscar “N” alias “El Cochi” was sentenced occurred on December 29, 2019, when, in the company of two subjects, he arrived at a property located on José López Portillo Avenue, Block 1, in Supermanzana 66.
“There was a man in that place whom Juan Oscar “N” ordered to walk to a rotisserie, which has a premises that functions as a seafood restaurant on the upper floor, to verify that there were no police patrols in the area. When he refused to do so, he was threatened with being killed, so he obeyed.
“When this person warned Juan Oscar “N” and the subjects who accompanied him that there were no patrol cars near the place, they shot at four people who were eating at the seafood restaurant. All of them lost their lives,” the FGE explained.
A Cancun judge issued the guilty verdict for Juan Oscar “N”, imposing a prison sentence of 50 years for each victim and a fine of 553,440 pesos. The FGE did not provide a motive for the four murders in their statement.
