Cancun City Council approves 377 million package for residential projects

Cancun, Q.R. — A public works package for 377 million pesos has been approved for residential Cancun. It is the second such package approved by Cancun City Council this year.

“Today is a very important day for our city. With the approval of this second investment package for 377 million pesos, hope has finally arrived for neighborhoods that have dreamed of public works for years,” said Cancun Mayor Ana Paty Peralta.

The package was approved during the Sixteenth Ordinary Session of the Benito Juárez City Council May 8. Members unanimously approved the modifications to the 2025 Annual Investment Program (PIA) corresponding to the second package of projects approved by the Municipal Planning Committee (COPLADEMUN).

These projects include various infrastructure, connectivity and pedestrian safety projects aimed at building a more prosperous city with efficiency and results.

“Today, we have regularized neighborhoods that will be able to access projects ranging from zero to one hundred with drainage, drinking water, paving, street lighting, curbs and sidewalks. We want to continue prioritizing investment in public works, investment in improving the quality of life of Cancun residents,” the Mayor explained.

According to Peralta, the second package prioritizes the city’s mobility with projects that include the modernization of the access road to Cancun via the freeway to Mérida, street rehabilitation on SM 103, Calle 36 between Av. Ixtepec and Calle 159 and pavement rehabilitation on SM 105 in the Tierra Maya neighborhood.
