12 million will be spent on a new C2 security centre for the Cancun Hotel Zone

Cancun, Q.R. — Authorities say nearly 12 million will be spent for a new security Command and Control Centre for the Cancun Hotel Zone. The new infrastructure will cost the municipality approximately 11.9 million pesos and be connected to the C5 Centre of Cancun.

On Thursday, Governor Mara Lezama announced the investment to build the new Command and Control Center (C2) in the hotel zone of Cancun to strengthen the security infrastructure and improve efficiency in emergency response times.

“Today we are taking a firm step in our commitment to the security of Cancun and to building peace and tranquility in the most important tourist destination in Mexico and Latin America,” she said.

Lezama says the new Centre will provide comprehensive coverage to the hotel zone, which will be linked to the C5 in Cancun to improve response times in emergency care.

This new C2 will be linked to the C5 through a computer-assisted dispatch system which will allow real-time information on emergency calls received at C2, optimizing response times and ensuring more effective and faster attention to the needs of citizens, she explained.

“With an investment of just over 11.9 million pesos, the C2 will be key to strengthening security and preventing crime, responding more quickly to incidents and ensuring the peace of mind of the people of Benito Juárez, the workers in the hotel zone and the millions of tourists who visit us every year,” said Mara Lezama.
