Tulum International receives Aerodome Certification

Tulum, Q.R. — The Tulum International Airport has received an Aerodrome Certificate for operational safety standards. The airport received the Civil Aerodrome certificate for public service granted by the Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC), a decentralized administrative body of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT).

The certificate, which will be renewed in three years, guarantees that the Tulum International Airport has all operational safety measures and complies with national and international standards for civil aviation.

This certification is received with great expectations as a result of a vertiginous growth since the inauguration of the Felipe Carrillo Puerto Tulum International Airport, which is part of the strategic and priority projects for the Government of Mexico.

During the delivery of the certificate, Tulum International Airport Administrator, General Javier Diego Campillo, reiterated that since the start of operations the objective of guaranteeing safety and efficiency for travelers has been met.

During his Tuesday speech, he highlighted the growth of the Tulum International Airport, exceeding expectations in terms of demand and number of passengers transported since its start of operations on December 1, 2023.
