Cancun, Q.R. — Two people were injured this morning in a crash that left a truck overturned on José López Portillo Avenue. The two vehicle accident happened near the Valle Verde neighborhood when one of the trucks rear ended the other, sending it into a city pole.
The impact from hitting the pole left that truck on its side. Both of the vehicles involved were company trucks.

According to the police report, the driver of the first truck, 23 year old Alejandro “N”, was driving along the avenue when he braked to avoid hitting a dog. At that same moment he felt a strong impact on the rear of his vehicle. The bed of his truck was knocked free and landed beside the truck near the central median.
The driver of the truck behind, 31 year old Jesús “N”, told police that he was unable to brake when the vehicle in front of him stopped. After the impact he lost control and collided with a public pole, ending up overturned on the side of the road.
Both company employees from inside the overturned truck were transferred to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Cancun Transit officers transferred Alejandro “N” to the police station for questioning before ordering tow trucks to clear then 9:30 a.m. accident.

Two lanes heading toward the Cancun city center were disrupted until the accident was cleared.
