Speeding said cause of two-vehicle crash outside Puerto Aventuras

Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — Failure to stop in time due to speeding has been deemed the likely cause of an accident outside Puerto Aventuras. On Sunday, a Lázaro Cárdenas del Río taxi crashed into the back of a private SUV along the federal highway.

Information from Municipal Police say the incident occurred between two vehicles just outside Puerto Aventuras, heading toward Playa del Carmen. According to their report, the driver of the taxi was speeding. When he noticed the driver of the Jeep ahead of him began to slow, he was unable to do the same in time.

Failing to brake, he crashed into the back of the private vehicle. No injuries were reported in the two-vehicle mishap, only substantial material damage.
