Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — The lifeless body of a man was found Thursday morning on the mainland of Isla Mujeres. The initial report was received through the C2 about an unconscious person.
Officers responding to the initial report confirmed a man was found lying face down. He was bound at his hands and feet with a bruised face and a cable around his neck.
Police called paramedics, however, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased is reported to have been in his 30s. He was found Thursday morning by a an elderly resident who was out clearing brush.
The area was cordoned off by Municipal Police while they waited for State Attorney General personnel and forensic services. Authorities have not provided additional information on the Thursday morning finding.
