Cozumel ready to welcome over 65,000 cruise ship tourists on 16 vessels

Cozumel, Q.R. — In the run-up to the peak cruise ship season, Cozumel will welcome 16 ships with an estimated 65,000 tourists. The ships are scheduled to dock the island during the week of October 13 to 19.

Mayor José Luis Chacón Méndez reaffirms its leadership as a pioneering international cruise port by welcoming tourists from around the world aboard ocean liners, where they can enjoy the natural beauty, culture and cuisine of the beautiful island.

José Elía Farah Ceh, head of the Tourism Subdirectorate, announced that the number of cruise ships will increase by mid-October, thus marking the start of the high season with arrivals on Sundays.

According to the arrival list released by the Quintana Roo Comprehensive Port Authority (Apiqroo), two cruise ships with approximately 7,690 passengers will stop on the island on Monday the 13th.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday the 14th, a single ship will welcome 5,602 tourists on board, while on Wednesday the 15th, 10,402 guests will be accommodated in the cabins of four ocean liners.

The best date of the week will be Thursday the 16th, when four more ships will stop on their route through the western Caribbean, carrying approximately 19,797 people.

On Friday, October 17, a triple ship is scheduled to arrive, carrying 15,468 people in the guest cabins, and on Saturday, October 18, two tour boats will arrive with 6,136 international visitors to explore the island.
