Cancun, Q.R. — A private vehicle was found with at least three bullet holes made by thieves who attempted to rob him. The robbery happened Monday afternoon in SM 46 of Cancun.

Neighbors called police after hearing gunfire on their residential street. Responding officers found a silver car with several bullet holes. The driver of the car had not been hit by any of the bullets.
The incident happened on California Street when the man, reported to be a digital transport driver, stopped to let out passengers when they assaulted him. At least one of his passengers was carrying a loaded handgun during the assault.
When the driver of the car refused to hand over his valuables, his passengers got out and fled on foot, but not before firing several rounds into the car. Police collected six spent shell casings from the pavement. Arrests have not been announced.
