Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — One of the men involved in a head-on motorcycle crash has died. The unnamed driver of the bike died in a Chetumal hospital Tuesday after being transferred from Felipe Carrillo Puerto late Sunday.
The accident happened Sunday night at an intersection of Felipe Carillo Puerto when one driver suddenly changed direction and headed toward a street where, at the intersection, he collided with an oncoming motorcycle.
Both drivers were thrown from their bikes. One of the motorcycles exploded into pieces due to the impact. Both men were transferred to hospital in serious condition.
Authorities have not released the name or age of the deceased motorcycle driver.
