Old Pointer crumpled in two vehicle federal highway collision

Cancun, Q.R. — A collision between two vehicles heading south left at least two injured Thursday morning. Emergency services from Cancun attended to the federal highway accident that was reported around 8:00 a.m.

Two cars were involved in a highway speed rear-end collision that left at least two people injured. The accident happened on a stretch of road between Cancun and Puerto Morelos.

Both vehicles were heading south when the two cars collided. One of the cars, a Pointer, sustained extensive damage. A second vehicle, a Kia, was tossed off the road and into shoulder vegetation.

Morning traffic was slowed as drivers maneuvered around the damaged cars. The driver of the red Pointer was found laying on the highway injured. His front seat passenger, a woman, was also injured. Both were transferred to hospital by Civil Protection medial personnel.

National Guard Highways arrived to deal with the wreckage. There was no word on how the accident happened.
