Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A group of six heavily armed people have been arrested by Investigative Police in Playa del Carmen. The five men and one woman were taken into custody for dealing narcotics and being found in illegal possession of firearms.

Their arrests were made by Investigative Police in coordination with National Guard and Municipal PDC Police Wednesday. The FGE says all six were arrested “in flagrante delicto”.
The FGE reported that elements of the Investigative Police captured Miriam “N”, Lorenzo David “N”, Gerardo “N”, Pantalion “N”, Víctor Daniel “N” and Jonathan “N” on Playa Chemuyil Street in the Xcacel subdivision.
During the operation, officers noticed four men outside an Aveo-type vehicle handling narcotic-like substances, so they proceeded to inspect them.
The officers seized dried, green marijuana, handguns and cell phones. Inside the vehicle, they found handguns, live cartridges and metal magazines, as well as two other people with narcotic-like substances.
Authorities say all of the suspects are alleged members of a criminal group that generates violence and is dedicated to the sale and distribution of drugs.
The six people arrested and the evidence seized were handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
