Paramedics attend to injured driver in Tulum airport road rollover

Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — Paramedics attended to one injured person Monday from a two vehicle collision. A car and SUV hit nearly head-on, leaving the car on its roof.

The accident happened on the road to the Tulum International Airport Monday afternoon. Emergency services were requested around 2:30 p.m. after one of the involved vehicles lost control and crossed the central median into the other lane.

There, they met an oncoming vehicle where they collided nearly head on. Accident witnesses reported that one of the drivers was speeding when he swerved out of his lane.

When attempting to get back in, failed and caused the collision. The driver of the car was transferred to hospital.

National Guard Highways arrived to coordinate traffic around the scene of the accident as well as the removal of the damaged vehicles involved.
