Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q. R. — The body of a man was found laying face down inside a bus stop near the town of Chumpon Wednesday. The body was found by area residents around 7:00 a.m. Wednesday morning inside a bus stop located along the federal highway.
Police were notified of the finding and arrived to verify the dead man. The man, who appeared to be in his 30s, was found bound at hands and feet. His face had been wrapped in plastic tape up to his eyes. He appeared to have been shot in the head before being left at the public stop.
Next to his body was a handwritten message from those responsible. The message read “This is going to happen to all the “Pelones” and “Chilangos” and “chapulines” The clean continues!!! Atte: C.D.S.”
Several small bags of cocaine were reportedly left beside the body along with the message.
Last week, military security was increased around the municipality due to the number of bodies being found dumped in various areas of Felipe Carrillo Puerto. Colonel Narciso Valadez Nájera reported that the finding of bodies, which are from events in other areas around the state, have the municipality on high alert.
He reported that the bodies being discovered originate from places such as Tulum, where they are abducted then transferred to Felipe Carrillo Puerto where they are murdered and left.
