Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — A controlled burn became out of control in Puerto Aventuras Wednesday after catching two boats on fire. The fire happened next to a Puerto Aventuras marina where people clearing the adjacent property set fire to weeds.
The workers were there to remove overgrown vegetation. In doing so, they set fire to a pile of cut grasses which spread to two small fishing boats. Firemen had to be called in to put out the fire that spread to the boats.
The boats were reportedly old not in use. There were no injuries or other material damage reported in the incident.
