Two arrested for attempting to enter Six Flags Mexico with submachine gun

Mexico City, Mexico — Two youths were arrested over the weekend after attempting to enter the Six Flag’s amusement park with a gun. Their arrests took place after the first youth, a 17-year-old male, set off the park’s metal detector.

Elements from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City quickly took the youth into custody. He wa in the company of a 20-year-old female, who was also arrested. In a report, the SSC have only said that the young man, who is legally a minor, was attempting to enter the amusement park with a loaded submachine gun and was being accompanied by an unidentified 20-year-old woman at the time.

The park has not issued a statement. Six Flags Mexico reopened its door on March 18 after being shut due to Covid-19 contingency.
