Riviera Maya hotel robbed of 1.6 million by two armed men

Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Two men have made off with more than 1.6 million peso after robbing the payroll cash in a Riviera Maya hotel.

The robbery was recorded at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Generations Riviera Maya when staff made the robbery call to Emergency 911 who said that two armed males dressed in work vests entered the hotel and quickly seized the money meant for payroll.

Each male entered the grounds on a separate moto, but left them behind when fleeing after the robbery.

Municipal Police arrived as first respondents in addition to ministerial and federal police. Employees of the hotel said that although they did witness the men, they were unable to provide physical descriptions due to the haste and nervousness of the robbery.
