Cancun, Q.R. — Neighbors who held a man for police in a fatal stabbing has been officially arrested. Rogelio “N”, a suspect in a homicide case, was officially arrested after the victim died.
Members of the SSC (Citizen Security Secretariat’s) Investigation Group responded to a report received through the 911 emergency line about a person injured with a knife Monday.
Upon arriving at the scene, which was a parking lot in SM 259 of the Villas Otoch Paraíso subdivision, they saw “a group of approximately 20 people signaling for assistance.”
When police approached, “the group handed over a man whom they identified as the alleged perpetrator of stabbing another man who was lying on the ground with blood stains around him,” the SSC said.
“During the interview with one of the witnesses, he reported that as he passed by his brother’s house, he saw him arguing with a friend identified as the alleged attacker.
Moments later, the suspect allegedly pulled out a silver-colored knife and injured his brother in the abdomen. The attacker then attempted to flee, but due to his apparent intoxication, he fell to the ground.
“Neighbors surrounded him, causing him to drop the knife and detain him until police arrived. As a result of the inspection, a metal-handled knife approximately 35 centimeters long was seized, as well as a white short-sleeved shirt with red floral prints and blood stains.

“A medical unit arrived at the scene and provided pre-hospital care to the injured man, who was taken to Dr. Jesús Kumate Rodríguez General Hospital, where his death was later reported,” said the statement. Rogelio “N” remains in custody pending a police investigation into the stabbing death.
