Chetumal, Q,R. — The Instituto Electoral de Quintana Roo (Ieqroo) has officially began with the registration of candidates for local deputies for State Congress.
As of March 9, the Electoral Institute of Quintana Roo began accepting the registration of candidates who must win by relative majority. Political candidates must register by March 13 to run in the upcoming elections being held June 2.
Candidates from Movimiento Ciudadano and Morena have been the first to express interest.
Parties participating include Morena, Partido Verde Ecologista de México (PVEM), Partido del Trabajo (PT), Partido Acción Nacional (PAN) and the Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD).
The Parties Revolucionario Institucional (PRI), Movimiento Ciudadano (MC), Confianza por Quintana Roo (CQ) and Movimiento Auténtico Social (MAS) will compete unitarily. In some electoral districts there will also be the registration of independent candidates.
