Nine from a recent mass arrest tied to two Cancun murders

Cancun, Q.R. — Nine of the 11 people arrested earlier this week have been connected to at least two Cancun murders. On Wednesday, the State Attorney General, Óscar Montes de Oca, reported that after the arrest of 11 individuals, nine arrest warrants were obtained.

At a press conference held at the C5 facilities in Cancun, he explained that the arrests were carried out in three operations on Rancho Viejo Avenue in Cancun. During their arrests, police seized firearms, magazine, ammo, narcotics and vehicles.

During his Wednesday press conference, Óscar Montes de Oca said that additional investigations since their arrests have lead police to connect nine of them to at least two Cancun murders. He explained that charges against them stem from a July 29 murder in SM 250 and a second murder on August 2 in SM 77.
