Cancun, Q.R. — A group of 11 people were taken into Cancun police custody from Avenida Rancho Viejo Tuesday on drug charges. The 10 men and one woman were arrested after a search revealed narcotics and loaded firearms.
The 11 detainees were arrested in three different Cancun police operations in the same area of the city. Those arrested are believed members of a criminal group and possibly connected to at least eight area murders.
Their arrests resulted in the seizure of over 150 bags of narcotics, three cars, one motorcycle three loaded handguns and numerous cell phones.
